Built by a Nail Tech’s Husband

Moxie.ink is a platform made with love (and a lot of monomer in the air). What started as a passion project to support my wife’s nail career has turned into something much bigger — a full-blown mission to give nail artists the business tools they actually deserve.

It All Started With My Wife

My wife, Genesis, has always loved doing nails. It started out as a way to save money, painting her own at home — but it didn’t take long before it became an obsession. She got really good. She's an artist at heart, and nails became her canvas.

Now, she’s in nail tech school, working toward her license (and dreams of being a mortuary nail tech, which is somehow very on brand for her). Every day she’s learning more, perfecting her craft, and dragging me deeper into the world of nail artistry — whether I’m ready or not.

After watching her wrestle with clunky scheduling tools and generic booking platforms that barely acknowledge nail techs, I realized there was a gap — a huge one. While platforms like Vagaro and GlossGenius serve everyone, they’re not designed specifically for nail artists. And that’s where I knew I could help.

Genesis is the Product Manager Now

I’m a developer. She’s a tech-savvy nail tech. Together, we’re building a product that works the way she needs it to. If she says it’s annoying, we fix it. If she says something’s missing, we build it. It’s that simple.

Our long-term goal? A full-featured, frictionless platform that serves solo nail techs and small nail spas with features like:

  • Client loyalty & relationship tracking
  • Predictive reminders for fresh sets
  • Quiet Mode appointments (for introverts!)
  • Income goals & smart financial insights
  • Press-on storefronts
  • Galleries that show off your work beautifully
  • Consent forms, waivers, automations, and more

We’re not building a dashboard. We’re building peace of mind. When a nail tech uses Moxie.ink, they shouldn’t feel like they’re using software. It should just work — quietly in the background — so they can focus on their art.

Built With Love (and a Few Early Failures)

One of my favorite stories: Genesis once did a full acrylic set on her mom’s friend. It was maybe her third time doing nails — and her very first time using acrylic. The nails were… let’s say, “experimental.” The client smiled and said, “Not bad for your first time.” But we both knew she was probably popping them off before she got to her car.

From those early days to now, watching her grow and chase this dream has been inspiring. I built Moxie.ink to support her — and now I want to support you too.

Let’s Build the Future of Nails

Whether you’re just getting started or already fully booked, we’re here to give you the tools to grow, thrive, and do your thing — with confidence.
